There is a well working elevator to the right of the Lobby. There are stairs, but not for us to tackle. The last four times we have gone, the up escalator was out of service. They are always cheerful, and amazingly thorough. We have it at home, but nothing like watching something like this on the largest of screens.Īs soon as the movie ends, the crew is there cleaning up before the next showing.

They also, show Classic movies, and yesterday (4/5) we went to see Hitchcock's "North by Northwest". At other times, we feel like we hit the jackpot when our tickets are printed, and we see that we are in Theater 2. It's tucked into a corner, and once you enter, you realize how large and comfortable it is. The opera is always shown in Theater 2, and that is our absolute favorite. We don't go to the movies that often, but we do go to their presentations of live opera from the Met on certain Saturdays. The Theaters and restrooms are always clean, the staff is friendly, the sound is great, and the location is very good. There seem to be far fewer seats now, so it would be wise to get tickets early. I just wonder what will happen with some of the very popular operas, which are usually sold out and packed.

So, we moved a few seats over, even though we had "designated" seats. (When we chose our seats, we made sure that it was not next to someone else.) Do not understand why they could not have left a space of one or two seats in between, as our entire row was empty, except for us and them. It was disappointing that with the Theater half empty, someone chose to sit right next to us, and then, kept unwrapping candy throughout the performance. We always like to sit in the next to the last row. When you pay at the entrance, a screen pops up with the Theater layout, and you choose your seats. That was very considerate, as either I or my husband have had to go find someone a few times, to let them know that the opera sound was not loud enough. They are wide and VERY comfortable, and should someone sit in front of you, you won't even see the top of their head.Īs we got settled in before the show, an employee came by asking everybody if the sound was good. The seats now not only recline, but have a footrest, which turns the seat into a lounge chair. All these special performances (Opera, Ballet, etc.) are shown in Theater 2, which is our favorite. Had not been to the movies for several months, and this theater has gone a major renovation. We recently went to see a Live from Broadway in HD performance of "Holiday Inn", and what a surprise we got. We felt very comfortable, and now, will be checking further showings of interest, as we, no longer, have any qualms about going to the movies. Not sure how many people were in the theater at that same time, as, besides those carrying opera programs, we did not see anybody, either in the lobby or the hallways, or the restrooms. Although our opera showing was almost full, you don't feel crowded, as the completely renovated seats are so spacious, that you are not bumping elbows with anybody. The bathrooms are absolutely spotless, and they are cleaned and sanitized every 30 minutes, no matter what. We were very, very pleased with the cleanliness, and the care taken to keep customers safe. This theater has always been part of the "Live From the Met in HD" program. Finally, the Met (in New York) permitted a live audience, and began streaming performances to certain theaters. We began attending these opera showings from the beginning, but, nothing had been going on, of late, so no opera for us. After almost three years of not going to any movies or shows, we, finally, ventured out, yesterday (2/3), to attend a Live From the Met encore of "Rigoletto".
